Hiking Near Neosho, Missouri: Trails and Outdoor Adventures

Neosho sits at the edge of the Ozarks, which means it sits at the edge of some of the best hiking terrain in the Midwest.

In Neosho
Morse Park Trail — The 1.73-mile trail follows Hickory Creek through the park's 400-acre grounds. Easy difficulty, good for all ages.
Carver Trail — The one-mile loop at George Washington Carver National Monument moves through restored prairie and woodland. Accessible for most visitors.

Within an Hour of Neosho
Roaring River State Park — About an hour east, Roaring River offers some of the best hiking in southwest Missouri alongside its famous trout fishing. Trails wind through rugged Ozarks terrain with real elevation change.
Ha Ha Tonka State Park — Dramatic karst topography — sinkholes, caves, a natural bridge, and castle ruins on a bluff above the Lake of the Ozarks.
Devil's Den State Park, Arkansas — About an hour and a half south, one of the most beloved hiking destinations in the region. Rugged terrain with caves, crevices, and creek crossings.

Tips
Wear layers in shoulder seasons. Tick awareness is critical spring through fall. Stay hydrated. Use RV-specific routing if driving to trailheads.
