🌶️Hot Pepper Heaven
Multiple varieties, heavy production, and still going strong in late September.
This pepper bed is a serious operation. You've got what appears to be multiple varieties — some long and slender turning deep red (possibly cayenne or jimmy nardello), others blocky and green, and a few that look like they might be on the hotter end of the spectrum. The bamboo stakes are doing real work here holding these heavily-loaded plants upright. Peppers are a warm-season crop that truly peaks in that late summer-to-fall window, and Stage Stop is clearly making the most of it. If you're a camper who loves cooking over the fire, this is the garden bed to pay attention to. Fresh-picked peppers roasted over campfire coals are something else entirely. Feel free to grab some, took cook for dinner at stage stop campground. That’s the perks of a community garden.
