πΉπThe Bumblebee's Favorite Rose
A white shrub rose, a visiting bumblebee, and a very good afternoon.
Right there in the center of the frame, landing on one of the open white blooms β a fat, happy bumblebee working the roses. This is a shrub rose, likely a species or rugosa-type, with simple five-petaled flowers that are far more pollinator-friendly than the heavily-doubled hybrid tea varieties. The flowers age from crisp white to a warm papery tan before dropping, and there's something beautiful about seeing all the stages at once on the same plant. The dark green glossy foliage is classic and healthy. Roses against a red barn backdrop, gravel paths, bees doing their work β this is what a well-tended rural property looks and feels like. Stage Stop has clearly been at this a while.
