Patrick Floyd Jarvis Garrett was a bartender, customs agent, and sheriff of Lincoln County, New Mexico. He is best remembered for killing the outlaw Billy the Kid on July 14, 1881. Garrett served the law with determination and became one of the most well-known lawmen of the Old West.
