Bass Reeves

Bass Reeves was the first Black deputy U.S. marshal west of the Mississippi River. During his 32-year career, he arrested over 3,000 felons and was never wounded in a gunfight, despite having his hat and belt shot off on several occasions. He was known for his expert marksmanship and use of disguises.
